Hello Blue Families!
I am looking forward to another great game! I cannot believe it is time for our last regular season game! Our play-off seat is all that is keeping away the great depression in our house! OK - so as we keep our mind on that last game, for which the times/locations are now confirmed - our game VS. Lake Orion @ 12 noon Sunday, October 18th at Brandon’s Varsity Field (this is not the stadium field), the address is 209 Varsity Drive Ortonville, MI 48462. Please plan to have your player there by 10:15 am. For those staying after early arrival - our Moms, led by Dawn Burtnett have planned a light pre-tailgate with coffee and goodies - all are welcome.
Our Banquet is going to be a great success - we have now heard from all families and have a great turn-out. Please remember to give your donations to your directors today at practice. Again, if anyone has any challenges with that, please call me or Coach. Remember October 25th 4-8pm, it is casual and kids should bring their swimwear!
Please remember Play-Off Season practice begins next week - we will schedule same as regular season, Tuesday through Friday at PKE: 5:30 (arrive by 5:15, please) - 7:30. Friday is a home football game for the Wolves - so we will let out at 7:00pm. Mary Clark is scheduling volunteers for our playoff games, please see her if you are interested.
Finally, I hope that you all took advantage of the Scholar Athlete award if your player was a returning athlete with great grades and community activism. There is now a second award that you should have heard about from the Chiefs organization email, the All American Honors Award. If not, I have attached it here. It is a simple and short form, please review it to see if your child is eligible for this special award, it does not require you to be second year, and the deadline is approaching.
I have to tell you a quick story - you all know I was chairing the conference dinners at my elementary and missed two nights of practice this week. With Two chiefs and the big guy - they know I am a Chief...I heard so many wonderful comments about our (all of our) Chiefs- they all told me how excited they were to see Chiefs jerseys walk into their room on the first day of school- they knew immediately that they had good citizens, responsible, dedicated and respectful. That made me very proud!
With that, LET'S GO BLUE!
Karen
